DC reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes in Poonch Distt

Emphasis laid on timely execution of projects to realise goal of 'Har Ghar Nal SE Jal'

Poonch: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M Choudhary on Friday chaired a crucial meeting here in the conference hall of the DC office to review the progress under the District Jal Jeevan Mission (DJJM).
Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Department, Jammu, Er. Hamesh Manchanda attended the meeting through Virtual Mode.
The focus of this review meeting was to ensure the timely and efficient execution of the JJM projects in Poonch, aligning with the vision of the “Har Ghar Jal with Nal” initiative.
During the meeting, a comprehensive discussion took place, focusing on the “Har Ghar Nal SE Jal ” initiative. The SE Hydraulic circle Poonch, Bharam Jyoti Sharma, updated the chair on the current status of the JJM schemes in the district.
The DC took scheme wise review and the concerned Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs), Assistant Engineers (AEs), Junior Engineers (JEs) provided the latest status of projects coming up in their respective jurisdictions.
The Executive Engineers were asked to strive towards achieving the target of providing “Har Ghar Jal” (water to every household) by the end of December.
The meeting was attended by SE Hydraulic Circle Poonch, Brahma Jyoti Sharma, Executive Engineer (PHE), Riaz Ahmed, AEEs, AEs, JEs of PHE and AEE PDD as well as representatives from the Integrated Support Agency (ISA), District Project Management Unit (DPMU), and Third-Party Inspection.
The District Administration remains committed to providing safe and accessible drinking water to every household, thereby improving the overall well-being and quality of life for the residents of Poonch.
