NMBA: Awareness Progs organized at different block Headquarters across Kupwara

Kupwara : On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, awareness programmes regarding eradication of drug menace under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) were organized at Block Headquarters, Handwara, Kupwara and Drugmulla on Thursday.
At Block Headquarters Handwara, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir was the chief guest at the event.
The ADC sought cooperation from the religious heads, families particularly from parents to overcome the menace among the youth which leads to other social evils and crimes.
He said, “Drug abuse is the biggest challenge which our young generation is facing and to eradicate this menace society as a whole needs to make concerted efforts”.
On the occasion, Principal BHSS Handwara; BDO Handwara; Tehsildar Handwara; Nodal Officer District Hospital Handwara and Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Handwara spoke about harmful effects of drug abuse.
Awareness programme was attended by PRIs, AWWs, ASHAs, Auqaf committee members and local residents.
Awareness programme under NMBA was also organized at Block Headquarters Kupwara where BDO Kupwara spoke at length on drug abuse and said that it is tearing mentally and physically to its abuser and breaking the social fabric of society. He urged PRIs, and all other stakeholders to play their active role so that Kupwara district becomes drug free.
Awareness programme was attended by BDC Kupwara, PRIs, Prominent citizens, civil society members, ASHAs and AWWs.
At Block Headquarter Drugmulla, Awareness programme under NMBA was also organised which was presided over by Tehsildar Drugmulla.
A large gathering of people, PRIS, AWWs, ASHAs attended the awareness programme.
