DC Srinagar stresses on conducting realistic survey to find developmental gaps

Says, “Amenity Directory is a vital Statistical tool used for grassroots level planning & tailoring developmental Plans”

Srinagar : A daylong Capacity Building programme cum Workshop on Preparation of Village and Ward wise Amenity Directory-2023 was held on Thursday here at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex.
The Workshop was organized by District Statistical and Evaluation Office (DSEO and was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad.
Among others the Workshop was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, District Statistics and Evaluation Officer (DSEO) Srinagar, Anika Mushtaq, Ward Officers of Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Village/Ward-Wise Amenity Directory, contains the Statistical Profile of the amenities available to the people within the boundaries of each village/ward of the District Srinagar. He said Amenity Directory is a vital Statistical tool used for grass root level planning and tailoring developmental plans of the District for overall socio-economic development of the citizens.
The DC stressed upon the field functionaries present in the meeting to conduct realistic data survey which prove helpful in addressing developmental issues of the people, besides assisting in policy-making, planning, research and also the Government to focus on chalking out priority sectors.
He also asked the concerned Officers to undertake survey for preparation of Village and Ward Wise Amenity Directory-2023 in a serious manner so that it proves useful to present a real picture of Srinagar District on a developmental map and will also guide the Administration for next coming years to further improve on the developmental front.
Earlier, the District Statistics and Evaluation Officer(DSEO) Srinagar, Anika Mushtaq briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the process to be adopted for preparation of Village/Ward Wise Amenity Directory-2023 for Srinagar District.
