Samba: As a part of Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations 2023, Degree College Vijaypur organized a Slogan-Cum-Poster Making activity on the theme Truth and Non-Violence under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat and Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K.
Nearly 20 students of the college participated in slogan cum poster presentations and explained beautifully the thoughts and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
Earlier, the event commenced with the welcome address by Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Sciences). She briefed about how Gandhi Ji’s ideas are still relevant today.
She said that Gandhi ji overcame personal inhibitions and prejudices in his life and bravely challenged injustice and discrimination through non-violent methods.
Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Gupta while speaking about the theme, said that the twin cardinal principles of Gandhi Ji’s thought are truth and non violence. The ideas of truth and nonviolence, which underpin the whole Gandhian Philosophy, are relevant to all humankind, she said.
The whole program was coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma and Prof. Poonam Kundan. Refreshments were also distributed among all the participants.
