DC Pulwama chairs DLRC meeting; stresses on Priority Sector Lending & Self Employment schemes

Pulwama: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr.Basharat Qayoom on Tuesday chaired a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting at Circuit House, Pulwama.
During the meeting, the DC took a sector wise performance review of the Banks regarding the implementation of different Government initiatives with respect to employment generation. He also reviewed the achievements of Banks in lending to the priority sector.
Disbursement of pending cases of loan in Agriculture, Handloom, and other allied sectors were also reviewed by the Chairman DLRC and banks were asked to focus on lending in priority sectors.
During the meeting, the DC held threadbare discussion with regard to the lending in priority, non priority, agri sector, number of cases sponsored by the intending departments, cases sanctioned, cases disbursed and cases pending for disbursement.
Besides, a review of implementation of Mumkin scheme, Tejaswani, NRLM, Svannidhi and other schemes was also done with clear directions from the chair to process cases within a fixed and minimum timeline.
The DC impressed upon the bankers to put in added efforts to increase the CD ratio by focusing on potential areas and stressed on better coordination between banks and government departments for bringing improvement in CD ratio.
He directed for ensuring balanced lending in all key sectors to promote equitable growth and also emphasized upon the heads of the financial institutions to spread awareness with regard to the welfare schemes sponsored by them among masses so that people can avail benefit for their socio-economic development.
Chairman DLRC directed concerned officials to organise the financial literacy camps in every block of the district and stressed upon the bankers and concerned officers to adopt a public friendly approach and work in coordination so that good results are achieved at the grass roots level.
While stressing on Digital literacy, DC stressed on the bank officials to hold regular camps and ensure all the individuals are brought within the ambit of Digital banking.
The meeting was attended by ACR Pulwama, CPO Pulwama, Lead District Manager, Cluster Head JK Bank,DDM NABARD, representatives of various banks, District Coordinators and Heads of various Government Departments.
