DC Rajouri reviews livelihood generation activities under NRLM

Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal chaired a significant meeting, bringing together concerned officers to assess and enhance livelihood generation activities under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) within the district.
During the meeting, in-depth discussions revolved around shaping the future action plan for Self-Help Group (SHG) formation, strengthening SHG-Bank linkages, promoting financial inclusion, and advancing various livelihood initiatives.
The meeting commenced with insightful updates from the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) representatives. It was revealed that a substantial 36,000 active members are engaged with SHGs in the district. Additionally, the presence of 364 Village Organizations and 31 cluster-level federations showcased the extensive reach of community engagement in Rajouri.
Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal sought clarification on the number of SHGs successfully linked with banks, with the response indicating a commendable 2,074 SHGs having established these crucial financial connections. This achievement signifies significant progress toward financial inclusion and growth within the community.
Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal underscored the importance of collaborative efforts among SHGs to diversify livelihood activities and improve income levels. He issued a clear directive to officers, emphasizing their role in assisting SHGs to channel their collective endeavors toward establishing thriving and successful businesses.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with a collective commitment to advancing economic progress within the district.
