Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in Sopore and also recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Putkha headed by Incharge Police Post Puthkha under the supervision of SDPO Sopore at a checkpoint established at Putkha intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No. JK01N-7686 with two persons identified as Muhammad Rustum Shah S/o Nazir Ahmad Shah and Abdul Hameed Bhat S/o Abdul Khalid Bhat, both residents of Nadihal Rafiabad on board and during searches recovered 2.30grams of Heroine and 152 SpasmoProxyvon Plus capsules from their possession.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action, a checkpoint established at Kupwara Crossing by a team of Police Post Fruit Mandi headed by SHO Police Station Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No. JK05E-4175 driven by one person Tanveer Ahmad Bhat S/o Ghulam Nabi Bhat R/o Hadipora Rafiabad, adding therein that during checking, 248 SpasmoProxyvon plus capsules were recovered from his possession following which all the three accused persons were arrested and shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody.
Stating that police accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law in respective police stations and initiated further investigation , Police
