Baramulla: In a concerted effort to enhance the landscape of higher education in the focused district of Baramulla, the Government Degree College (Autonomous), Baramulla, on Thursday organized a one-day training workshop on the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA).
This transformative event was attended by RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) convenors and members representing colleges from across Baramulla district, as well as participants from various colleges of North Kashmir.
Notably, GDC Baramulla, serves as the district nodal college for the PM-USHA scheme, with Professor Mohammad Farooq Rather, the Principal of the college, also holding the esteemed position of District Nodal Officer for this groundbreaking initiative.
The workshop commenced with a brief to the participants on the guidelines pertaining to presentations concerning the PM-USHA scheme by the Principal of the College.
The highlight of the day was a detailed and insightful presentation by Dr. Abdul Roouf Bhat, the convenor of RUSA, UGC, and AISHE at the host institution. Dr. Bhat provided an in-depth understanding of the PM-USHA scheme, elaborating on the guidelines and meticulously discussing the proposal format.
This enlightening presentation was followed by an engaging question and answer session, where participants had the opportunity to seek clarifications and engage in profound discussions, further enriching their comprehension of the scheme.
The PM-USHA scheme holds immense promise for colleges in District Baramulla, offering a unique opportunity to bridge educational gaps, bolster infrastructure, and provide students with access to quality higher education. Through collaborative initiatives like this workshop, participants are now better equipped to prepare compelling RUSA proposals, thereby contributing to the upliftment of higher education standards in the region.
This event marks a significant step forward in realizing the full potential of the PM-USHA scheme and serves as a beacon of hope for a brighter future in the higher education sector of Baramulla District.
