DC Pulwama chairs Block level review meeting at Tral

Pulwama: Continuing block level review of development works/ schemes, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr.Basharat Qayoom on Thursday chaired a meeting at Town Hall Tral to review the progress of blocks Tral, Dadasara and Aripal.
At the outset, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Tral apprised the chair of various developmental schemes going on in the blocks and the resolution of grievances within the Sub Division and how Block Diwas has proved to be successful as a public outreach program.
The DC in his initial address advised all the departments to focus on differentiation of needs and demands. Demands should be noted and genuine demands should be addressed in Action Plans however basic utilities and needs should be taken into consideration and immediate resolution of basic needs be done, he added.
He said focus should be on developing Community assets rather than individual works while preparing plans and while framing DPRs all the utilities should also be accommodated within DPRs without failure.
The DC while taking department wise review focused on completion of works within the stipulated timeline.
Further, the DC emphasised on completion of allocated works immediately and for booking of expenditure simultaneously.
While addressing the Health Department, Dr Basharat advised them to reach to the last man in the line for saturation of Ayushman Bharat Scheme and directed R&B for prioritisation in completion of health centres.
The DC further stressed for creation of long term infrastructure under MGNREGA and advised the BDOs for inter block community based works.
Waste collection should have proper forward and backward linkages so that proper disposal of waste is carried out, he added.
He stated that the main motive of such block wise review meetings is to focus on inter-departmental coordination and if any issue pertaining to any department is at block level the same can be resolved. All the departments should work in tandem and cohesion so that public service is enhanced.
The DC also emphasised on creation of sports infrastructure to enhance sports activities among youth.
A schedule has been issued where in reviews shall be taken up in each block to speed up developmental works and resolve issues of availability of land or right of way there and then.
The meeting among others was attended by ADC Tral, officers from KPDCL, RDD, YSS, Municipality Irrigation, JJM and others.
