Ganderbal: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir on Thursday undertook a comprehensive review of various developmental projects within the purview of the PWD Circle Ganderbal.
This crucial meeting was organized in light of the recent restructuring within the PWD R&B, which also encompasses the mechanical department.
During the meeting, the Superintendent Engineer of R&B Circle Ganderbal, Er. Nisar Ahmed Lala provided a comprehensive briefing to the DC.
Also present were Executive Engineer Ganderbal, Er. Tatheer Manzoor, and Executive Engineer of the newly established Kangan division, Er. Zahoor Ahmad.
The DC was apprised of the changes in the administrative structure, both pre and post-reorganization. It was highlighted that the Ganderbal district has now been divided into two divisions, namely Ganderbal Division and Kangan Division.
Furthermore, the DC was updated on the progress, accomplishments, and objectives of various ongoing projects.
These encompassed areas such as Macadamisation, NABARD projects, road safety initiatives, DMRRR projects, education, healthcare, district development, and tourism. Special attention was given to the development of Sonamarg and Manasbal, with respective authorities.
In a firm directive, the DC stressed the importance of adhering to the rules and regulations governing the tendering and execution processes. Contractors failing to meet timelines or initiating work punctually will face stringent action in accordance with the regulations.
A detailed examination of transit accommodations was carried out, with an explicit directive to the R&B department to ensure their timely completion. The Executive Engineer R&B Ganderbal was specifically tasked with focusing on the development of Manasbal.
Additionally, the Executive Engineer of the Mechanical Division in District Hospitals elucidated their roles and responsibilities, ensuring smooth functioning within healthcare facilities.
Municipal works came under the spotlight, with a call for their prompt and monitored completion. The Superintending Engineer expounded on the quality control mechanisms and the operations of the newly established quality control lab.
The DC commended the commendable efforts of the R&B department but underscored the need for sustained efforts to align with government directives and make continuous development a reality.
He also held one-on-one introductions with each technical staff member, fostering a collaborative and informed approach to furthering developmental goals.
