DC Kishtwar visits Pakal Dul, Keru HydroElectric Power Projects at Nagseni; takes stock of the developmental scenario

Grievances of workers heard, enquires about safety measures sought at work site

Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav on Wednesday conducted a comprehensive inspectional tour of the 1000 MW -Pakal Dul Hydro Electric Power Project at Dool and 624 MW Keru Hydro Electric Power Project.
During the visit, Dr. Devansh Yadav interacted with key authorities and assessed the pace and progress of these significant projects.
The Deputy Commissioner meticulously inspected the power house reviewed site Plans besides the ongoing construction works at the twin projects. He also inquired about the pace and quality of the ongoing activities and emphasized the importance of adhering to the project timelines.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the concerned authorities to ensure that these prestigious projects are completed within the stipulated time frame.
He also engaged in an interactive session with the Heads of the power projects, CVPPL authorities, and representatives from the construction companies, namely Patel Engineering Ltd and AFCONS. During these discussions, various issues and challenges were addressed. Dr. Devansh Yadav reassured all stakeholders of the administration’s unwavering support to overcome any obstacles.
Recognizing the significance of these projects on a national scale, DC Kishtwar emphasized the importance of strict compliance with environmental guidelines. He stressed the need to adhere to guidelines set by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and those issued by the Jammu & Kashmir Pollution Control Committee to ensure responsible and sustainable project implementation.
He also interacted with local workers and enquired about safety measures at the work sites besides listening to their grievances. He passed necessary directions to the project authorities to mitigate the issues of workers in consultation with other stakeholders.
Speaking on the occasion, he observed that these Hydro Electric Power Projects hold immense local & national importance and, upon completion, will significantly contribute to the nation’s power generation capabilities. They are poised to transform the district into a Power generation Hub on the national platform.
The Deputy Commissioner further observed that the establishment of a 400-220 KVA Substation at Trigam will prioritize the utilization of power generated by five hydropower projects for the Kishtwar district.
