Udhampur : Vice Chairperson, District Development Council Udhampur, Juhi Manhas Pathania, called upon people to make the Meri Maati Mera Desh programme a public movement. We need to participate in it religiously, she added.
She visited different hamlets and paid homage to brave martyrs at ‘Falaks’ (plaques) installed in all Panchayats. She also visited Amrit Sarovars in her constituency, under the ‘Meri Matti Mera Desh’ programme and collected a pinch of soil and rice granules from households, which will be taken to Kartavya Path in New Delhi for planting an Amrit Vatika.
Speaking on the occasion, she paid tributes to revolutionaries, martyrs and soldiers guarding the borders. She appealed to the people to join ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ Programme so that each house in every village of the country would associate with ‘Panch Pran’.
She said the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign by the PM has showcased the vision of New India.
She also administered the oath of ‘Panch Pran’ to the people who pledged to make India a self reliant and developed nation by 2047.
Ms Pathania also took this programme as a viable opportunity to interact with women and aged who often find it challenging to attend public darbars and put forth their issues. She emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment and encouraged them to come forward and participate in decision-making processes. She was appreciative of women scientists in the success story of Chandrayaan-3, monumental achievement of our scientists. This is not just a victory for our space agency, but it is a bright symbol of India’s progress and ascent on the global stage.
The analytical prowess, combined with a fervent commitment to inquiry and exploration, of women scientists has constantly propelled the nation into the forefront of global scientific achievements.
In this era of science, technology and innovation, she also specially appealed to those associated with the world of education to inspire more youngsters towards science.
The success of Chandrayaan-3 has given a monumental chance to ignite the spark of interest in these fields and also leverage the window of opportunities in our nation.
The Vice Chairperson also took note of the lack of basic amenities in some areas and promised to take immediate action to address these issues. She directed the concerned officials to take necessary steps to ensure that the people of her constituency receive adequate healthcare, education, and other essential services.
The Vice Chairperson’s visit was well-received by the local residents, who appreciated her efforts in reaching out to them and addressing their concerns.
She was accompanied by Ramesh Chander Gupta, Sarpanch Khoon, Nimrata Bali Naib Sarpanch Khoon, Charan Das Naib Sarpanch Nakki, Renu Sharma, Ved Sharma, Anku Verma, Vikram Singh and various other prominent members of the area.
