FCS&CA-K holds Awareness prog on Online Services at Bemina, Srinagar

Amid dry, hot and humid weather, hundreds of people including men, women and children mostly bare foot visited the revered suffi Saint Shrine Sheikh Noor-Ud-Wali popularly known as Nund Resh at Charar-e- Sharief in Budgam district on Sunday for prayers to seek rainfall to end the drought season in Kashmir valley. Srinagar: The Department of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Srinagar on Tuesday organized a daylong awareness programme at SDA Park Bemina Srinagar as part of an awareness camp.
The Director FCS&CA Kashmir, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi was chief guest on the occasion while as Deputy Director FCS&CA, Najwan Nazki was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion the Director FCS&CA-K highlighted the positive impact of online services and achievements of the department.
On this occasion, the Assistant Director Srinagar South, Shohab Latief elaborated and gave an extensive presentation of various schemes of the department wherein additional 10 Kilograms of food grains over and above regular monthly food grains are being provided to PHH beneficiaries under PMFS. He asked the rationees to avail this facility at all the Govt Sale Centers/Fair Price Shops of district Srinagar.
He further said that the Department has moved to online (Automated) mode of ration distribution through Aadhar enabled/Biometric based point of Sale (POS) Devices, as it simplifies the process, brings good Governance, Transparency and efficiency and also enables the rationees to get their ration entitlement in a convenient and hassle-free manner.
After this, there was an interaction session between the public and the Tehsil Supply Officers of the department wherein the queries raised by the public were redressed on spot. After this e-Tickets under AAY/PHH categories were handed over to the rationees by the Director FCS&CA-K, Assistant Director, & Corporator SMC Bemina West.
Among others, Chief Accounts Officer, Aaliya; Assistant Director Srinagar South, Shohab Latief; Assistant Director Srinagar North, Mohd Yousuf; Corporator SMC Bemina West, Shameema; President Food & Supplies Association, Aijaz Ahmad Khan; Tehsil Supply Officers and other Officials of the department and respectable dignitaries of the Mohalla Committees of Bemina and other adjoining areas attended the event.
