Since hilly resorts like Bangus valley are much exposed to adventure and rural tourism, the development of tourist infrastructure at tourist spots like Bangus Valley demands greater attention of the tourism department.
The remark of the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha that Government will developed 300 new tourist destinations across Jammu & Kashmir shows his commitment on expansion of the tourism network in both Kashmir Valley and as well as Jammu division. Unlike Chief Ministers of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state the Lt Governor has unveiled a roadmap for developing new tourist destinations like Bangus Valley and as part of his ambitious program of developing new tourist destinations the annual tourist festivals are now being conducted at Bangus for the last two years. Reiterating his commitment to focus on rural and adventure tourism the Lt Governor during his address to a largely attended public rally at Bungus after inaugurating the annual tourist festival said that rural and adventure tourism would now be a new area of tourist promotion in Jammu & Kashmir. Providing bigger opportunities to local artisans for showcasing traditional arts and crafts at hilly resorts like Bangus valley as promised by Lt Governor would by standards of understandabilities open up new avenues of employment to the local youth in the rural areas. Since hilly resorts like Bangus valley are much exposed to adventure and rural tourism, the development of tourist infrastructure at tourist spots like Bangus Valley demands greater attention of the tourism department. Potentialities of Adventure tourism of the hilly resorts like Bangus valley if exposed to their full capacities would hopefully change them into all weather tourist destinations in Kashmir Valley where tourist arrivals are greatly reduced during the chilly months of winter. Keeping in view the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remark that tourism industry will witness immense growth in Jammu & Kashmir if civic amenities increase and infrastructure develops at top tourist destinations, it is for the Jammu & Kashmir’s Tourism Department to improve civic amenities and develop tourist infrastructure facilities at hilly resorts to change them into world class destination of adventure and rural tourism in coming years.
“Tourist festivals at hilly resorts would hopefully attract foreign tourists only if the tourist infrastructural facilities are improved to the entire satisfaction of tourists from both within and outside the country. By all standards of understandabilities for increasing foreign tourist arrivals and changing the hilly resorts into all weather tourist destinations the development of world class tourist facilities at hilly resorts deserve a greater attention of the Government”.
Otherwise also better tourist facilities would hopefully attract more and more tourists from both within and outside the country and more so at hilly resorts like Bangus Valley.
