Jammu : District Magistrate, Sachin Kumar Vaishya on Monday convened a meeting to review the progress of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) road projects in the district.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate set project-specific deadlines for the construction of the roads, emphasising the need to adhere to predetermined schedules.
Additionally, he entrusted the responsibility for the comprehensive supervision of these road projects to the Sub Divisional Magistrates. The SDMs were directed to adopt a resolute approach and expedite project finalisation, while abiding by all applicable rules and regulations.
The DM asserted the necessity of overcoming any obstacles that may arise within the confines of these rules and regulations. He emphasised the prompt resolution of legitimate concerns and ensuring that the general public does not endure unnecessary hardships throughout these endeavours.
The District Magistrate underscored that, barring unforeseen and natural challenges, the roads must be completed within the stipulated time frames. He accentuated the indispensable role of the administration in dispensing governance while actively engaging all stakeholders.
The meeting also featured a discussion regarding forest clearances, with the DFO. The gathering extensively examined technical issues that pose hindrances to the timely finalisation of certain projects. The DFO was urged to collaborate closely with PMGSY officers to facilitate the timely completion of the projects.
The meeting was attended by DFO, AD Planning, Satish Sharma, Superintendent Engineers and Executive Engineers from PMGSY. SDMs, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and Tehsildars also participated virtually.
