Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has participated in the G-20 Summit at the invitation of India.

Bangladesh has taken full advantage of ‘conference diplomacy’ in the conference.

Bangladesh highlighted its position as a ‘strong voice of the Global South’ in Delhi. Sheikh Hasina emphasized on strengthening world solidarity to solve global problems.

At the same time, she called for initiatives to ensure global peace and stability.

Apart from participating in the G-20 conference, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also met with the presidents of South Korea, United Arab Emirates and Argentina on the sidelines. Besides, she also spoke with US President Joe Biden in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Bangladesh is known as the ‘strongest voice of the Global South’. Fragile countries are facing various problems due to various global complications. To solve this problem, Sheikh Hasina called on the world’s largest economies to implement Agenda 2030, smooth and sustainable transition from the list of least developed countries, uninterrupted supply of daily necessities and equal rights for women.

Hasina-Biden exchanged courtesies

One aspect of the multilateral system is that when leaders of different countries meet, they have much-needed dialogue with each other outside of the main conference. They participated in lunch or dinner. Similarly, on the sidelines of the G-20 main conference, the two top leaders of Bangladesh and the United States have sharpened their relations.

In today’s picture, US President Joe Biden was firmly holding Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s hand, which is an expression of warm relationship. In diplomacy, such handshakes are seen as an expression of very important warm or cool body language. A leader can convey his attitude to another by a gentle or firm handshake.

At the same time, the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the talks between Sheikh Hasina and Joe Biden is very significant. Usually when two leaders talk, the presence of a third leader is assumed to be very close to the first two leaders. It seemed that India may be the catalyst behind the talks between Sheikh Hasina and Joe Biden.

Meeting with Saudi Prince

Several meetings have been held with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. On the sidelines of this year’s G20 summit, the two leaders reiterated their commitment to work together.

In a meeting between the two leaders on Monday morning, the Saudi Crown Prince expressed his satisfaction over various Saudi investments in Bangladesh. He expressed gratitude for the contribution of 2.8 million Bangladeshis working in that country.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Crown Prince for various reform activities in Saudi Arabia. When she invited the prince to visit Bangladesh, he accepted and expressed interest in coming to Bangladesh.

Bangladeshis have won the hearts of Argentines

In a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Argentine President Alberto Fernandez said that Bangladeshis have won the hearts of the people of his country because of their support for Argentina’s football.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina thanked the Argentine President for opening the embassy in Bangladesh. She expressed optimism that the relationship between the two countries will further increase in sports, trade and agriculture.

Hasina-Nahian meeting

Sheikh Hasina has a close relationship with the top leadership of the United Arab Emirates. Following this, Sheikh Hasina held a sideline meeting with President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. UAE has assured to invest more in Bangladesh.

At the same time, the President of the United Arab Emirates praised the socio-economic and economic development of Bangladesh.

Hasina-Yul meeting

A reliable partner of Bangladesh is South Korea. Sheikh Hasina had a meeting with the President of that country Yoon Suk Yul. Both the leaders agreed to increase culture, trade and commerce between the two countries.

It should be noted that earlier in August, Sheikh Hasina held a meeting with the presidents of China and Iran along with other top leaders at the BRICS summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.
