GCW Gandhinagar Jammu organises lecture on “Impact of Right Food Choices on Improving Overall Physical, Mental Health”

Jammu: The Department of Home Science of Government College for Women, Gandhinagar, on Friday took a significant step towards promoting holistic well-being by organizing a highly informative lecture on the “Impact of Right Food Choices on Improving Overall Physical and Mental Health.”
The event, which took place at the college premises, saw enthusiastic participation from over 50 students from the Home Science department.
Deepakshi Vaid, a renowned Consultant Nutritionist and the founder of Vaidic Nutrition, as well as a distinguished Lecturer at IThrive Academy, Pune, graced the occasion as the esteemed resource person. Her expertise in the field of nutrition and health brought invaluable insights to the students in attendance.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Irvinder Kour, the Head of the Home Science department, who emphasized the importance of making informed dietary choices for a healthier lifestyle. She set the tone for the enlightening lecture that followed.
Deepakshi Vaid, in her engaging session, shed light on the significance of choosing the right foods to enhance both physical and mental well-being. Her presentation covered topics ranging from balanced nutrition to the impact of dietary choices on mental health, drawing on her extensive experience and research in the field.
Prof. Minu Mahajan, the Principal of Govt College for Women, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the efforts of the Home Science department and the profound impact such events have on the students. She encouraged the students to embrace the knowledge gained during the lecture and apply it in their daily lives.
The organizing committee, consisting of dedicated faculty members, played a pivotal role in making this event a grand success. Dr. Anjali Bhat, Prof. Neelam Bhagat, Dr. Ramandeep Kour, Dr. Neelima Gupta, and Prof. Shivani Sawhney worked tirelessly to ensure the event ran smoothly and that the students benefited from this enlightening experience.
The lecture not only provided students with valuable insights into the relationship between nutrition and overall well-being but also fostered a sense of empowerment to make healthier choices in their lives.
