7 persons arrested alongwith 7 vehicles for illegal extraction,Transportation of minerals in Bla: Police

Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has arrested seven persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla and also seized seven vehicles from the possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that a police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO Police Station Tangmarg seized four vehicles (3 tippers, 1 tractor) and also arrested four drivers identified as Farooq Ahmad Malik S/o Mohd Akbar, Zahid Ahmad Reshi S/o Ab Rahim, Waseem Ahmad Malik S/o Gh Ahmad all R/o Paraswani Kunzer and Baider Ahmad Ahanger S/o Mohd Sultan R/o Ferozpora for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Shrai & Ferozpora Tangmarh.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action, a police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by SHO Police Station Sheeri seized three vehicles (3 tippers) and arrested three drivers identified as Farooq Ahmad Dar S/o Mohd Maqbool, Bashir Ahmad Reshi S/o Ab Hamid both residents of Jalsheeri & Khalid Hussain Malla S/o Gh Ahmad R/o Kitchama for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Sheeri.
Stating that police registered the cases under relevant sections of law at respective Police Stations and initiated investigations, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
