2 drug peddlers arrested in Bla, Contraband substances recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that the police party of Police Post Palhallan headed by Incharge Police Post Palhallan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan at a checkpoint established at Palhallan Morh intercepted a person identified as Hashim Ramzan Gojree S/o Mohd Ramzan R/o Gojree Mohalla Palhallan and recovered 4.2 Kgs of poppy straw like contraband substance during checking from his possession, adding therein that the accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement firther said that in a similar action, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg at a checkpoint established at Mangloora Baramulla intercepted a person identified as Wakeel Ahmad Rather S/o Abdul Karim R/o Mangloora Kunzer and during checking recovered 75 grams of Charas like contraband substance from the possession the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that police accordingly registered the cases under relevant sections of law at respective Police Station and initiated investigation , Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and warned that people indulging in drug menace will strictly be dealt under law.
