Kulgam: The Teacher’s Day was observed /celebrated at Model Higher Secondary School (MHSS) D H Pora on Wednesday.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Noorabad, Bashir Ul Hassan graced the event as chief guest. The function was inaugurated by Principal MHSS D H Pora Ab Gani Bhat. On the occasion the students of the institution spoke their hearts out regarding the role of teachers in shaping their lives.
Showkat Ahmad Wani, Lecturer Political Science, Ab Rashid Sheikh Lecturer Chemistry also dwelled upon the role of teachers and stressed upon teachers to be role models for their students, so that they get developed as human resource.
The students of the institution presented colorful cultural skits portraying their love for their teachers.
SDM in his address advised the students to respect their teachers, parents which only can take them to new heights of glory. He also cautioned the students to aloof themselves from the drug menace and other undesired activities.
He was all applause for the students of MHSS D H Pora for their presentation of colourful events which depicted they are full of talents and endowment and congratulated the school administration for providing them opportunities and environment for exploring their embedded traits.
The Principal in his address spoke about the role of teachers in building the future society. He stressed that we should never be complacent as the role of teacher is an ever evolving process with the changing trends of socio economic development.
