Mandeep Kour kick-starts ‘Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K Week’ activities in Poonch

Poonch: In a significant move towards promoting transparent governance, Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kour on Wednesday virtually kick-started activities under the Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K week here.
The initiative aims to combat corruption and ensure accountable administration across the region.
The Commissioner Secretary, who is also the Mentor Secretary of district Poonch and Prabhari officer of Panchayat Serikhawaja also chaired a virtual mode meeting to review the progress of various developmental works undertaken by different departments.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary; Assistant Commissioner Development, Abid Hussain Shah and other concerned officers.
Addressing the officers during the meeting, the Commissioner Secretary directed the officers to prepare a comprehensive feasibility report for all genuine public demands. She added that this step will ensure timely redressal of public grievances, enabling citizens to avail the benefits without any delays or hindrances.
She also stressed upon the Deputy Commissioner to conduct the social audit of all the ongoing works in the district in a time bound manner. She also enquired about the activities being undertaken during the Bhrashtachar week from DC Poonch.
Furthermore, the Commissioner Secretary emphasized on the importance of social audits under the Swach Bharat Mission in Panchayat Seri Khawaj. She added that the social audit will ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of cleanliness and sanitation initiatives within the local community.
During the meeting, Mandeep Kour also commended Panchayat Seri Khawaj for achieving the ODF+ (Open Defecation Free Plus) model status. She remarked that this significant achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of the local administration and the community in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
