J&K parts receives light rainfall, MeT predicts dry weather for next 2 weeks

Srinagar: After a long dry spell, Jammu & Kashmir parts received fresh rainfall in the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday while the weatherman here has predicted dry weather conditions till September 11.
In a daily advisory issued by the Meteorological department, the weatherman has stated that the weather conditions in the next two weeks are favourable for harvesting of crops and outdoor activities.
According to Metrological department J&K, the light rainfall was recorded at several places including the summer capital of J&K, Srinagar in the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday.
However, the weatherman has stated that there is no forecast of any major rainfall in the next two weeks, saying that the weather would remain mainly dry till September 11 in J&K.
Mainly clear & dry weather is expected for the next one week while a brief spell of light rain may occur at isolated places on certain occasions, although chances are very less, the MeT official said.
He further said that overall, there is no forecast of any major rain/snowfall for next two weeks, but subdued rainfall will continue for another two weeks in J&K.
