Srinagar :, Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested 4 persons and seized four vehicles from their possession who were involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, police said that a police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Nawaz Ahmad assisted by Incharge PP Palhallan seized 4 tractors and arrested 4 drivers identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat S/o Abdul Rashid Bhat and Danish Nabi S/o Ghulam Nabi Bhat both residents of Chichiloora Kunzer, Tanveer Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohd Akbar Bhat R/o Wanigam & Mohd Abbas Bhat S/o Mohd Asadullah Bhat R/o Bouchoo Pattan for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Dargam Palhallan.
Stating that the police accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Pattan and investigation has also been taken up.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
