Govt Degree College Tral organized Digital Mela

Pulwama : As part of Digital J&K Week-2023 celebrations, Government Degree College Tral on Monday the 4th of September, 2023 organized a Digital Mela (Digi-Mela-2023) in the premises of the college campus. The mela witnessed overwhelming participation from the locals and students of the college. Stalls were set up by different departments at the venue aimed at creating awareness regarding online services launched by the government and providing online services on the spot to the general public.
The Digi-Mela was inaugurated by Assistant Deputy Commissioner Tral who was chief guest of the event. The event started with a brief inaugural function which was presided over by the chief Guest. In-charge Principal of the college Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Khanday welcomed the guests. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Khanday highlighted the digital initiatives taken by the college for the benefit of the students in general and other stakeholders in particular. Prof. Ishaq Ahmad Wani Coordinator of the event and convener Digital Initiative Committee of the college presented a detailed presentation on the need of digital awareness among general masses. He emphasized the critical importance of digital literacy in today’s digitally connected world. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest of the event Mr. Sajad Yahya Naqash, Assistant Deputy Commissioner Tral said that the Government has started online services to bring transparency and ease for the public. He urged the audience to gain awareness about the online services to avail maximum benefit. He appealed to people to acquaint themselves with online public service delivery mechanisms adopted by Jammu and Kashmir administration where over 1000 e-services of different departments are available with the convenience of a single click on computer as well as on the mobile phone. Dr. Hilal Ahmad Wani presented vote of thanks. The event proceedings were conducted by Prof. Mohammad Aabid Shah.
The Digi-Mela-2023 witnessed immense public response and officers, experts and resource persons were seen imparting awareness to the people about the available online services and information regarding Digi Locker, RAS, Awam Ke Awaz, e-Unnat and Mobile Dost Application. On the occasion, the departments put up banners and distributed pamphlets containing information about the online services pertaining to their departments. The students visited various stalls and gained knowledge regarding various Digital initiatives and applications launched by the J&K overnment.
