Baramulla: As part of Digital J&K Week Celebration being observed across the district, an awareness rally of students and other concerned stakeholders was flagged-off by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar at Kralhar, Baramulla.
The awareness rally that was organized by District Administration Baramulla in collaboration with Youth Services and Sports Baramulla and Education Department started from Kralhar and later culminated at Government Degree College Boys Baramulla.
During the rally, the students were carrying placards and banners showcasing various digital initiatives aimed at making people aware about the online services being provided to the masses for their convenience.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Sehrish said that the malaise of ‘corruption’ could be largely addressed through ‘online services’ and digital services are the best antidote to the evil of corruption. She further asserted that the digital services are not only accessible and transparent but also non-discriminatory and more efficient, besides being less costly and cumbersome.
On the occasion, the DC advised people to seek their rights and avoid visiting offices physically by applying for services from the comforts of their homes.
