Srinagar : Commissioner Secretary Skill Development Department (SDD), Saurabh Bhagat on Friday chaired a meeting and reviewed the functioning of J&K Board of Technical Education (JKBOTE) at Civil Secretariat here.
Director, SDD, Secretary Board of Technical Education (BOTE) and other senior officers of the SDD also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions and deliberations were held on working of JKBOTE and other related matters associated with the Board.
Addressing the officers during the meeting, the Commissioner Secretary impressed upon the officers that students should be allied with the Higher Education Department so that they can use their Academic Bank of Credit (ACB) for acquiring higher education as per the New Education Policy. He added that provision of multiple entry and multiple exit for the students in Polytechnic colleges should also be implemented.
Saurabh Bhagat further asked the officers that the syllabus for all the semesters of polytechnics should be revised as per the demand of industry and should also be job oriented. He also delved on them that necessary steps should be initiated for 100% intake in Polytechnic colleges.
The meeting was informed that as on date there is 85% admission in both Polytechnics as well as ITIs. It was also informed that for easy access to student community, JKBOTE is providing 11 online services for facilitating students.
