Jammu: District Development Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, on Friday chaired a meeting to discuss the preparations for the roll out of Ayushman Bhava campaign. This special initiative is dedicated to delivering a wide range of healthcare services to the public and is scheduled to run from September to December 31.
Among others, the objective of the campaign is distribution of Ayushman Bharat Golden Cards to eligible beneficiaries throughout its duration. To ensure efficient and widespread distribution, special events will be conducted across all developmental blocks within the district.
A key highlight of the campaign is the organisation of Ayushman Melas at Community Health Centres, where expert doctors, including psychiatrists, gynaecologists, nephrologists, paediatricians, ENT specialists and more, will provide health check-ups and specialised screening for different diseases. This will include thorough health screenings of children aged 0-18 to facilitate early detection and timely treatment of diseases and disorders.
During the meeting, the DDC directed the Assistant Commissioner Development to collaborate closely with the Chief Medical Office to guarantee the successful execution of the campaign. He emphasised the importance of seamless coordination between Block Development Officers and Block Medical Officers to ensure the campaign’s effectiveness. Furthermore, the role of Zonal Panchayat Officers and ASHA workers in the campaign was also underscored by him.
Recognising the significance of involving key stakeholders, the DDC asked for the involvement of District Development Chairpersons, Block Development Chairpersons, Sarpanches and other representatives of the Panchayati Raj Institutions to reach the masses effectively.
Prominent attendees at the meeting included Additional Deputy Commissioner (Law & Order), Harvinder Singh; Chief Medical Officer, Chief Planning Officer and Assistant Commissioner Development.
