Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has arrested four persons and seized four vehicles from their possession involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Altaf Ahmad assisted by SHO Police Station Baramulla seized four tippers and arrested four drivers identified as Shabir Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Mohammad, Shahzad Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Mohammad both residents of Jalsheeri Baramulla, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir S/o Gh Ahmad R/o Drangbal Baramulla & Javaid Ahmad Lone S/o Gh Mohammad R/o Hardushiva Sopore, at Khanpora Baramulla.
Stating that the drivers’ along with their vehicles were found involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals and accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was also registered in Police Station Baramulla against them following which investigation was taken up, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law and also appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
