Jammu: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organised a Multilingual Mushiara at K.L.Saigal Hall, Jammu in the memory of renowned Urdu and Kashmir poet Late Ghulam Rasool Kamgar (Kishtwari).
Kawaja Ghulam Rasool Kamgar was born in Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir in 1888.He received his education in Persian, Arabic, Urdu and Mathematics from Maulana Saifullah who also initiated him to writing both prose and poetry. He has made valuable contributions to Kashmiri literature through his scholarly pursuits by introducing classical writing of Arabic and Persian in it. He was conferred with many awards like Robes of Honour & Certificate of Merit in Persian, (By President of India), Robes Of Honour (Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & languages ), Robes of Honour (Riasti Cultural Sangam J&K). He has written many books including published one like Translation in Urdu(Verse) of Vird-ul-Muridin by Baba Daud Khaki, Translation in Kashmiri(Verse) of Rishi Nama Lamia by Baba Daud Khaki, Translation in Kashmiri(Verse) of Ramooz-e-Bekhudi by AllamaIqbal, Moulood-e-Berzenji Kashmiri (Verse), Chel Hadees Kashmiri (Verse), Armagan-e Madina: Persian ,Urdu, Kashmiri Naatia Kalam.
In the beginning, Secretary JKAACL, Bharat Singh welcomed the Guests and the dignitaries. In his welcome address, he said that the main thought behind organizing this program was to recall the great personality of Jammu and Kashmir particularly of Kishtwar. He said that one gets great knowledge by going through the life and history of such great personalities.
Prof Shohab Anayat Malik was the chief Guest, while B.N Betab Presided over the function. Khalid Hussain was the Guest of Honour. Wali Mohammad Aseer Kishtawari presented a research Paper on literary Contribution of Late Kamgar Kisitawari
After the welcome speech Multilingual Mushaira began in which renowned writers/ poets presented their poetry.
The writers included Wali Mohammad Aseer Kishtwari, Dildar Mohan, Jenab Mohd Amin Banihali, Dr Shehnaz Qadri (HOD Urdu), Dr Liyaqat Jafri (HOD Urdu), Prof Mohammad Assadullah Wani, Rajinder Agosh, Fozia Naseem Mughal, Autar Krishan Naaz, Brij Nath Betab, Bal Krishan Sanyasi, Santosh Shah Nadaan, Aarsh Om Dalmotra, Shamim Ajaz Mattoo, Ghulam Nabi Suhail Sadiqi, Farid Ahmed Faridi, Om Goswami Masoom, Piyaray Hatash, Ishtiyaq Ahmed (Research Scholar), Mehshar Mubasher (Research Scholar), Shahnawaz Ahmed, Sham Talib, Bashir Ahmed Tishna, Er. Vinod, Dolly Tickoo, Arrwal and Zahida Begam. The proceedings of the programme were ably conducted by Dr Shehnaz Qadri HOD Urdu MAM College.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Dr. Shahnawaz, Editor cum Cultural officer, Gojri, JKAACL.
