Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested four persons and seized four vehicles from their possession which were involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in North Kashmir’s district Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that a police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Mohd Nawaz assisted by Incharge Police Post Palhallan, seized four vehicles (Tractors) and arrested four drivers identified as Mohd Yousuf Ganie S/o Abdul Jabbar R/o Andergam, Hilal Ahmad Mir S/o Abdul Rashid, Hilal Ahmad Khan S/o Ghulam Mohd & Hilal Ahmad Dar S/o Ghulam Hassan all residents of Palhallan Pattan for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Dargam Pattan. Stating that it has accordingly registered the case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Pattan and initiated further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
