Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested one drug peddler in Sopore and recovered Psychotropic substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that a police party of Police Post Putkha at a checkpoint established at Wagub Crossing arrested one drug peddler identified as Danish Rajab Mir S/o Muhammad Rajab Mir R/o Nigeen Bagh Sopore, adding therein that during checking, 308 banned capsules were recovered from his possession following which the accused was shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that the police has registered a case vide FIR No. 85/2023 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Tarzoo and initiated the investigation , Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
