2 persons arrested for illegal traction and transportation of minerals in Bla, 2 vehicles also seized: Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two persons and also seized two vehicles from their possession for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party led by SHO PS Kreeri under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri Khalid Ashraf seized one Tractor and arrested the driver identified as Muneer Ahmad Ganie S/o Ghulam Mohiuddin R/o Shrakwara for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Shrakwara Kreeri
Police in its statement also said that in a similar action a Police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Imtiaz Ahmed assisted by InCharge Police Post Babareshi seized Tipper and arrested the driver identified as Waseem Ahmad Malik S/o Khazir Mohd Malik R/o Doolipora, for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Nambalnar Babareshi.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered the cases under relevant sections of law in respective police stations and initiated investigation , Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
