Doda: In a proactive move to mark the upcoming Digital Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Week 2023, District administration Doda is gearing up for a week filled with campaigns and events aimed at raising awareness about the convenience of government services available online.
Scheduled to run from August 31, 2023, to September 6, 2023, at the block level, this week-long celebration involves active participation from various government departments.
Deputy Commissioner (DC), Vishesh Mahajan, took the lead, as he chaired a crucial meeting with government officials to lay the groundwork for this digital extravaganza. The focus will be on promoting digital access, service delivery and inclusion for all residents of the district.
The CEO was asked to look after a comprehensive action plan devised, encouraging collaboration between departments such as Revenue, Banks, Health, Labour, Employment, and Social Welfare. Their primary goal will be to inform secondary-level students about the government’s online services.
Each department has been tasked with identifying resource persons for different schools, facilitating campaigns, and advocating for digital schemes.
Simultaneously, local government bodies- the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Urban Local bodies and prominent community members will be roped in to actively participate in these school activities.
The Rural Development Department (RDD), in partnership with banks and Common Service Centers (CSCs), will initiate a Panchayat-wise Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign. This initiative has been designed to highlight digital initiatives and services offered by various government departments. These activities are set to span seven days, covering all 237 panchayats in the district.
To ensure the seamless execution of the Digital Week, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah, SDM Assar, SDM Thathri, and SDM Gandoh have been appointed as Nodal Officers in their respective jurisdictions.
To kick-start this exciting week, a ‘Digi Mela’ is scheduled from August 31, 2023, to September 2, 2023, at the Community Hall of M.C Doda.
During the event, the government departments will provide online services and set up stalls to assist the general public.
Each department has been directed to create hoardings and banners showcasing their online services. Additionally, a dedicated computer operator from various departments equipped with a laptop will be on hand to offer live demonstrations and raise awareness about their online offerings throughout the Digital Week Mela.
DC Doda, Vishesh Mahajan, leads the charge in ensuring that the Digital Week becomes a memorable celebration, fostering digital access, service delivery, and inclusion within the district. This week promises to be an educational and engaging experience for all, as residents discover the benefits of government services in the digital age.
