7 persons arrested for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Bla, 7 tractors also seized: Police

Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested seven persons and also seized seven vehicles for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that the Police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Mohd Nawaz led by IC PP Mirgund, seized two tractors and arrested their drivers identified as Ashiq Hussain Malla S/o Mohammad Qasim & Shabir Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohammad Ramzan, both residents of Yakhmanpora Pattan for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Yakhmanpora Pattan.
Police in it’s statement further said that in a similar action a Police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Imtiaz Ahmed assisted by SHO Police Station Kunzer, seized two tractors and arrested their drivers identified as Gowhar Yousuf Wani S/o Mohd Yousuf R/o Poshbagh Kharpora & Hilal Ahmad Ganie S/o Sonaullah Ganie R/o Karhama Kunzer involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Waripora Kunzer.
Police in its statement also said that a police party under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri Khalid Ashraf, seized three tractors and arrested three drivers identified as Showkat Ahmad Mir S/o Gh Nabi R/o Bungdara, Riyaz Ahmad Ganie S/o Ab Majeed & Riyaz Ahmad S/o Asadullah Ganie, both residents of Chandkote Kreeri for their involvement in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals at Ningli Nallah & Chandkote Kreeri. Stating that the police accordingly registered the cases under relevant sections of law in respective police stations and initiated further investigations , Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
