Over 200 dengue +ve cases reported in J&K

Jammu: More than 200 cases of dengue have been reported in various districts of Jammu and Kashmir, a health official said here on Sunday.
He said that the dengue patients are increasing rapidly in Jammu and Kashmir and so far, 220 cases of dengue are reported in the Jammu region of the Union Territory.
“Over 100 cases have been registered in a week but the percentage of patients admitted to the hospitals is very less, which indicates that people are recovering at their respective places,” said an official.
He stated that on Saturday, a total of 158 people were screened in Jammu out of which 14 were confirmed cases.
As per the data, 13 cases were reported from Jammu district and one from Rajouri, they said and added that the maximum 150 cases reported so far are from Jammu district followed by Kathua district with 25 and Samba 14.
There were six cases in Reasi, four in Udhampur, three each in Poonch and Doda, four in Kashmir and three from other parts, said an official adding that one death has been reported due to dengue in Jammu and Kashmir.
“A total of 62 patients have been admitted to the hospitals and of these, 47 have been discharged and 13 patients are undergoing treatment,” they said.
