New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said India has made G-20 a more inclusive forum and the upcoming summit next month will witness the largest participation in the history of the forum.
Addressing the 104th episode of his monthly radio program, Mann Ki Baat, Modi said the month of September is going to witness India’s potential. “We are fully prepared for the G-20 Leaders Summit next month”.
He added heads of 40 countries and many global organisations would be arriving in the national capital to participate in this event. “This will be the biggest participation ever in the history of the G-20 Summit,” he said.
The PM termed India’s presidency of the summit as the ‘people’s presidency’ and said India has made G-20 a more inclusive forum.
“The African Union also joined the G-20 on India’s invitation and the voice of the people of Africa reached this important platform of the world,” Modi said.
He stated that India took over the presidency of the G-20 in Bali last year, and so much has happened that it fills every Indian with pride.
” About 200 meetings of G20 were organised in 60 cities across the country and delegates were very impressed by seeing the diversity of our country and our vibrant democracy,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister said after the G-20 meeting in Srinagar, a huge increase in the number of tourists to Kashmir is being seen.
He also urged all countrymen to come together to make the G-20 summit successful and bring glory to the country.
Talking about the world records that India made including the G20 quiz organised in Varanasi where 1.5 lakh students from 800 schools participated, Modi said India is making its presence felt in every field.
PM Modi also congratulated the scientists for the Mission Chandrayaan….adding that the historic mission has become a “symbol of the spirit of New India, which wants to ensure victory, and also knows how to win in any situation.”
Mentioning the role of women scientists in the mission, he said: “Where the might of women’s power is added, the impossible can also be made possible. India’s Mission Chandrayaan is also a live example of woman power.”
The Prime Minister added that many women scientists and engineers have been directly involved in this entire mission. They have handled many important responsibilities like project director, and project manager of different systems.
“The daughters of India are now challenging even the Space which is considered infinite. When the daughters of a country become so ambitious, who can stop that country from becoming developed” he lauded the scientists,” he said.
Turning to the recently concluded World University Games in China, the Prime Minister said India displayed her best-ever performance in these games this time by winning 26 medals including 11 gold pieces.
Terming th Independence Day celebration of 15th August as the power of ‘Sabka Prayas’ PM Modi said efforts of all the countrymen turned the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ into a ‘Har Man Tiranga Abhiyan’.
“Around 1.5 crore tricolors were sold through 1.5 lakh post offices. Through that, our workers, weavers, and especially women have also earned hundreds of crores of rupees” he said.
Prime Minister said the campaign to evoke the spirit of patriotism ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ is in full swing in the country and expressed confidence that the efforts of every countryman will make it successful.
Speaking about World Sanskrit Day, Prime Minister Modi said Sanskrit is one of the oldest languages in the world and it is also called the mother of many modern languages.
“Sanskrit is known for its antiquity as well as its scientificity and grammar” he added.
He said: “Much ancient knowledge of India has been preserved in the Sanskrit language for thousands of years. People doing research on subjects like Yoga, Ayurveda, and philosophy are now learning Sanskrit more and more”.
Prime Minister also congratulated the people on Telugu Day and said many priceless gems of Indian culture are hidden in the literature and heritage of the Telugu language.
“Many efforts are also being made to ensure that the whole country gets the benefit of this heritage of Telugu” he added.
The Prime Minister concluded the episode by extending greetings for the Raksha Bandha festival and said the season of festivals has also arrived. “We also have to remember the mantra of Vocal for Local. This campaign of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ is every countryman’s campaign. And during the festive atmosphere, we have to keep holy places and their vicinity clean” he added. UNI
