Srinagar: Residents of Tengpora Noorbagh in Srinagar on Saturday said they are facing acute drinking water shortage for more than two months.
Talking to reporters they said the authorities have not responded to their pleas so far.
“We have no potable water and the supply is very low. Sometimes there is no water in the day and supply returns at around 1:00 to 1:50 am. We are being forced to wake up at night to collect the water,” said a local Ayoub Lone.
“We don’t even have water for our children, and if we have any patient at our home, tell us what he will drink,” added another local, Hamid Sheikh son of Gh Ahmad Sheikh.
“We have gone to the authorities many times, but nothing happened. We are again requesting the authorities to kindly look into the matter as urgently as we have no water supply in our area,” they added
