Srinagar : In a significant move that marks a turning point for the tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir, Ernst & Young (EY), one of the world’s largest professional services networks, successfully hosted its Partners and Leaders meet in Srinagar this week.
This significant event comes on the heels of the G20 discussions on Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) Tourism and represents a remarkable leap forward in global corporate engagement with regions of immense natural and cultural value. This one of the first corporate events held by a global Big 4 firm was attended by over 100 team members including partners, leaders and senior management of the firm from across India.
In a statement issued here on Thursday it said that EY, renowned as one of the prestigious Big Four accounting firms, has historically organized impactful offsite meetings and leaders’ gatherings held in prominent international cities such as Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Dubai. “The recent Srinagar meet emerges as a trailblazing endeavour, highlighting the region’s potential as a destination for high-profile corporate gatherings and underscoring its growing potential as a MICE Tourism hub,” the statement said.
It said that the Department of Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir, played a pivotal role in supporting the event as part of its MICE Tourism promotion campaign. “The collaboration between EY and the local government demonstrates a mutual commitment to showcasing the potential of the region beyond its natural beauty. The success of this event signals a promising avenue for future partnerships and engagements, fostering economic growth and development in the region,” said the statement.
Quoting Mr. Adil Zaidi, an EY Partner, from EDA (Economic Development Advisory) sector, the statement said that he expressed his overwhelming appreciation for the event’s success and the warm welcome extended by the region.
Quoting him further it said that Zaidi also expressed his optimism about potential future collaborations between EY and the Department of Tourism, further solidifying the firm’s commitment to contributing to the region’s progress.
“This landmark EY Partners and Leaders Meet is an opportunity for the evolving landscape of Jammu and Kashmir’s corporate engagement. It sends a powerful message to the global business community, highlighting the opportunities for meaningful connections between economic development and cultural exploration,” the statement said.
It also said that as Jammu and Kashmir continues to open its doors to the world, events like this shine a spotlight on its potential, igniting hope for more collaborative ventures in the years to come
