DC Jammu calls for speedy land transfer for vital projects

Jammu: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya on Tuesday reviewed the progress on land acquisition for various developmental projects in the district here at a meeting of stakeholder departments. The projects include the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, Jammu Ring Road, Jammu-Akhnoor and Jammu-Poonch roads, Expansion of Jammu Airport and other projects of importance to the defence viz Border Outposts and Border Fencing.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Piyush Dhotra, as well as all Sub Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildar Headquarter and other senior officials.
The DC set deadlines for removing bottlenecks and resolving long-pending and contentious issues related to these projects. He also directed the respective officers to ensure timely distribution of compensation amounts among the rightful owners. Additionally, the officers were instructed to stay vigilant against corrupt practices and take a strict stance against such practices in their subordinate offices.
The meeting also addressed delineations/demarcations of land that are not part of any water course/source but have been recorded as Gair Mumkin Khad, Gair Mumkin Darya, Gair Mumkin Nallah, etc., in revenue records.
