Jammu: Motor Vehicle department Jammu organized two awareness-cum-health checkup Camps for the Commercial Drivers. One health checkup cum awareness camp was organized for commercial vehicle drivers at Ware house Jammu on the other day and another awareness camp regarding HIV was organized at Khanpur Nagrota on Saturday. The Camp at Ware house was organized in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, Health & Medical Education Department and Transport Unions.
A team of Doctors from the Health Department conducted on the spot health checkup and screening of the drivers for different diseases including eye check. In all, 250 drivers were screened in the camp for B.P, Sugar, eyesight and other related diseases. Besides, the medical team also imparted counselling to the participant drivers and advised them to adopt an active lifestyle to stay healthy and keep away from bad habits.
The health experts asked the commercial vehicle drivers to take adequate rest and go for regular health checkups for their safety and safety of other road users.
The second camp was organized at Khanpur Nagrota to impart awareness to Commercial Vehicle Drivers regarding prevention & cure of HIV.
A team of experts from AIDS Control Society explained in detail about the prevention & control measures pertaining to HIV. During the camp, literature related to Road Safety, Nasha Mukt Bharat and HIV was distributed among the participants.
Officers from the Social Welfare Department, Health & Medical Education Department, AIDS Control Society and representatives of Transport Unions participated in the camps.
From Transport Department the twin camps were attended by, Rehana Tabassam, ARTO HQr, Esha Chib, ARTO(G), Kuldeep Singh ARTO(P), MVIs Vikas Srivats, Surinder Kumar, Jasbir Singh, Sub MVI Amanish, MVTA Tarunjot, Kuldeep Kumar played an important role in organizing both the said camps.
