Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: DC Jammu felicitates officers with excellent performance

DC Hails those who contrbuted in securing top rank for the district in DGGI 3.0

Jammu: District Administration Jammu, in an endeavour towards celebration of the nation-wide campaign “Meri Maati Mera Desh” to mark the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on the eve of 77th Independence Day 2023, organized a felicitation ceremony in the Conference Hall of DC Office, Jammu where Deputy Commissioner Avny Lavasa awarded appreciation certificates to various District/Sectoral Officers who have made significant contribution and put in strenuous efforts in their respective fields and have enabled the District to achieve number one Rank in District Good Governance Index 3.0 in the whole J&K.
District Good Governance Index 3.0, a J&K government initiative to bring about a holistic development and to provide for a robust framework for evidence based assessment of the performance of all the districts of Jammu & Kashmir in the implementation of various Govt. schemes, programmes announced for the well being of its citizens.
The Appreciation Certificates were awarded to Commissioner JMC Rahul Yadav, CPO Jammu Yoginder Katoch, DSEO Jammu Rupinder Kaur, ACD Jammu Preeti Sharma, DSWO Mamta Rajput, SE Hydraulic Vivek Kohli; SE JPDCL Rajinder Gupta, SE REW K.S. Nathyal among others.
In addition to above, other officers present in the ceremony included ADC L&O Harvinder Singh, ACR Piysh Dhotra and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that committed towards welfare of the common people and continuing its endeavor on the developmental front and implementation of the various Government initiatives, Jammu District scored the first rank under District Good Governance Index (DGGI) 3.0 among all the 20 Districts of the Jammu & Kashmir emerging as a top performer.
She applauded the District Statistics & Evaluation Officer, Rupinder Kaur and complimented the whole team of her office for carrying out this exercise of data collection, compilation and analysing of data received from District/Sectoral offices for the 10 sectors encompassing 58 indicators and 116 Data sets meticulously.
Deputy Commissioner termed the ranking of District Jammu a significant achievement which has laid foundation for evidence based planning in future.
She also complimented all the District/Sectoral Officers who have shown remarkable achievement thereby enabling the district to attain the first rank in Annual District Good Governance Index 3.0 for the year 2022-23 which is clearly indicative of doing a gap analysis and keeping a real time check on the outreach of various Government initiatives to take the overall rank of the District from 6th in DGGI 2.0 to 1st in DGGI 3.0.
Highlighting the achievement, the Deputy Commissioner said that this is a moment of great pride for Jammu District as the District has scaled up in Governance and attained new heights. The DC also applauded the efforts of not one but all the officers, their staff for working industriously, dedication and meticulously and urged all of them to work with added zeal, fervour and enthusiasm to retain the top position.
