With ‘Jan Baghdaari’ Distt committed to ensure ‘Nasha Mukth’ Anantnag: SF. Hamid

7 Panchayats declared Nasha Mukth in Distt Ang

Anantnag: on Saturday in a significant achievement in the fight against drug menace seven panchayats viz Chitergul-C, Sofipora, Lehandajan, Ganeshpora, Badigam, Shairgund and Khairbugh were declared as “Nasha Mukth”. The sarpanches of these panchayats were felicitated in a function presided over by Deputy Commissioner.
DC while speaking on the occasion thanked all the residents of these panchayats for their support and cooperation. He further said that these panchayat fulfilled all the criteria setup for declaring a panchayat/municipality as “Nasha Mukth”.
He further added that more panchayats shall be declared “Nasha Mukth” in the coming days and our goal is to eradicate the menace from the district completely and support from general public in this regard is needed.
DC gave extensive speech on drug related issues and highlighted the role of parents , teachers and civil society alongside law enforcement agencies for curbing the menace,
Honorable members of District Development Council Anantnag also participated in the event. Stalls were also installed by all the line departments displaying schemes and activities carried out by the departments which were inspected by the DC on the onset of the event. Special lectures imparting awareness about Drug abuse were delivered by Guests .
On the sideline of the event DC distributed sanction letters to the beneficiaries under JKREGP and PMEGP. He also handed over a cheque of Rupees 4,39,85,000/ as per bank loan sanctioned among which 62 were PMEGP cases and 16 were JKREGP cases.
Deputy Commissioner stated that under the vision and guidance of Honorable Lieutenant Governor JK, District administration is very much committed for upliftment of marginalized sections of the society by empowering them, reaching the last person in the line ensuring development of all.
