Peace established in last four years in Jammu & Kashmir has not just led to unprecedented rise in tourist footfall but it has also imbibed a sense of security among the people of Jammu & Kashmir and secured the careers of youth. While thirty years of a turbulent phase of violence consumed thousands of innocent lives, it also ruined the careers of thousand of youth also who could not even think about preparing for All India Service Examination for about two decades till the year 2010. Irrefutable fact is that during last four years increasing tendency of youth in All India Service Examination saw unprecedented rise in the no of civil service qualifiers from Jammu & Kashmir. Fact speak themselves that the youth of Jammu & Kashmir secured higher ranks not only in the Civil Services Examination conducted for elite services like IFS, IAS, IPS and other allied Central Services but also in other All India Service Examinations like Indian Statistical & Economic Services Examination and Indian Engineering Services Examination. This is obviously the outcome of better handholding of youth by the Jammu & Kashmir Government during last four years. It is also an irrefutable fact that three decades of violence as very rightly pointed out by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha in his recent statements has ended the era of street protests, shutdowns and shutting down of colleges and universities not for weeks but for months together. A change that has not only brought to an end the era of deaths and destruction but has also secured the careers of youth. The change so brought about through sustained efforts by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and his administration if sustained would hopefully mark the beginning of an era of progress and prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir. True it is that Government has overcome the challenges of street protests, shutdowns and shutting down of colleges and universities, but unfortunately the challenge of drug addiction remains there and if not controlled and contained in short time will ruin the lives of youth and spoil their careers.
“True it is that nurturing the sports talent of youth would most likely reduce the increasing spread of drug addiction but establishing more and more coaching and counselling centres in colleges and universities for increasing the participation of youth in All India Service Examinations like UPSC’s Civil Service Examination, Indian Statistical & Economic Services, Indian Engineering Services Examination, Indian Medical Services Examinations and the likes would surely further the prospects of long last peace in Jammu & Kashmir”.
Though Police has launched a massive crackdown on drug addicts and taken several proactive measures for their rehabilitation and return to mainland but controlling and containing the spread of drug addiction in short time is more bigger a challenge than controlling and containing street violence. True it is that nurturing the sports talent of youth would most likely reduce the increasing spread of drug addiction but establishing more and more coaching and counselling centres in colleges and universities for increasing the participation of youth in All India Service Examinations like UPSC’s Civil Service Examination, Indian Statistical & Economic Services, Indian Engineering Services Examination, Indian Medical Services Examinations and the likes would surely further the prospects of long last peace in Jammu & Kashmir.
