Kishtwar: To bring healthcare services at the doorsteps of underserved people, the Health Department Kishtwar, in collaboration with the District Administration and under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, organised a medical camp in PHC Nali in block Bounjwah. The camp was held as part of the pioneering initiative called “Doctor Aap Ke Gaon Mai.” peculiar to district Kishtwar.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming response of the people and untiring efforts by the Medical Specialists of District Hospital.
The three-month-long “Doctor Aap Ke Gaon Mai” initiative commenced on July 12, 2023, from Nowapachi Marwah, and the Camp culminated with a record-breaking success at PHC Nali Bounjwah where a total of 1500 patients were examined, 300 lab tests were conducted, and 150 Ultrasounds were performed besides providing free medicines to patients under the close supervision of CMO, Dr M Y Mir.
The camp also catered to the medical needs of Persons with Disabilities, providing them on the spot Disability Certificates for UDID cards.
Recognizing the urgent requirement for accessible healthcare services in far-flung regions, the “Doctor Aap Ke Gaon Mai” initiative has deployed a team of skilled and experienced doctors of District Hospital to remote villages in District Kishtwar. The primary objective of this initiative is to bridge the healthcare gap between urban and rural areas, with a particular emphasis on reaching the most vulnerable populations who face limited access to medical resources.
Through regular visits over the course of three months, “Doctor Aap Ke Gaon Mai” aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services, including general health check-ups, diagnosis of common ailments, and the provision of vital healthcare advice. The healthcare professionals are also prioritizing health education, promoting preventive measures, and raising awareness about prevalent diseases in the region.
The “Doctor Aap Ke Gaon Mai” initiative exemplifies the commitment of the District Administration and Health Department to contribute to the well-being of underserved populations.
The public of Block Bounjwah expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS), Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, and Dr. M.Y. Mir, CMO Kishtwar, for fulfilling their aspirations despite the lack of potential healthcare infrastructure in these areas.
