Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has solved a burglary case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and also recovered stolen property worth lakhs from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on July 2 this year Police Station Baramulla received a written complaint from one Zahoor Ahmad Bazi R/o Mohalla Syed Kareem Baramulla who alleged therein that during intervening night of 1st-2nd July some unknown burglars barged into his mobile shop and took away mobile phones, adding therein that police accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Baramulla and initiated investigation into the case.
Police in it’s statement further said that during the course of investigation, the investigation team came to know about one suspect identified as Showkat Ahmad Bhat S/o Gh Hassan Bhat R/o Mir Sahib Old Town Baramulla and brought him for questioning, adding therein that during questioning, the accused accepted his involvement in the commission of crime and later on his disclosure, stolen mobile phones worth 1.5 lakh was recovered from his possession.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that people of the area have lauded it’s efforts for cracking/solving the case. The police on this occasion resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities.
