Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested three persons and also seized three vehicles from their possession for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Imtiaz Ahmed assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg, seized three vehicles (3 tippers) and arrested three drivers identified as Khursheed Ahmad Khan S/o Ali Mohd Khan R/o Check Treran, Showkat Ahmad Parray S/o Gh Mohiuddin R/o Kulhama & Ab Hamid Kumar S/o Gh Mohd R/o Paraswani Kunzer for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Shrai-Kulhama Tangmarg.
Stating that the police later accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Tangmarg and intiated further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
