DC Kathua finalises Independence Day arrangements

DIPR to host maiden Mega Laser Show at Gateway of J&K as part of “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign
Kathua: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rakesh Minhas on Wednesday chaired a meeting of officers to finalise the arrangements for the celebration of 77th Independence Day-2023 here in DC office Complex.
The meeting was informed that main function will be held in the Sports Stadium, Kathua where the VIP will unfurl the National Flag at 08:55 am and take salute at 42 march past contingents comprising of Police, Army, Para Military forces, NCC, platoons of Schools, Colleges besides bands of different formations.
The celebrations on the day will begin with the playing of ‘Shehnai Vadan’ and patriotic songs by the Information Department in the wee hours at the Deputy Commissioner Office and SSP Office Kathua.
The DC directed the concerned departments to ensure all the arrangements related to security, sanitation, seating, barricading, drinking water supply, uninterrupted electricity, prize distribution, invitation cards, transportation, and illumination of important buildings on Independence Day.
The DC exhorted upon all the departments to carry out plantation and cleanliness drives besides ensuring flag hoisting and illumination on Independence Day. He further impressed upon all heads of the government establishments to ensure presence of all employees during the National Day celebrations.
Regarding the ongoing Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign, the DC called upon all the heads of line departments to carry out intensive activities as per the pre-decided schedule of events.
It was given out in the meeting that the Department of Information and Public Relations will organise the first ever Mega Laser Show as a prelude to 77th Independence Day celebrations at gateway of J&k, Lakhanpur on 13th August 2023 from 07:30 PM onwards.
The DC exhorted upon the officers concerned to do all preparations well in advance so that national function could be celebrated with traditional fervor.
SSP Kathua, Shivdeep Singh Jamwal, DC State Taxes Lakhanpur, Ranjeet Singh, ADC Ranjit Singh, GM DIC Prem Singh Chib, ACD Kathua Kishore Singh Katoch, CPO Uttam Singh and District Officers of different departments were also present.
