S.P College organizes Interaction cum Orientation Lecture

Srinagar: The College Admission Committee of Sri Pratap College, Srinagar on Tuesday organized an Interaction cum Orientation Lecture on “Exploring the Four Year Undergraduate Curricular Framework (FYUGP) of Cluster University Srinagar and functioning of recently launched Higher Education Admission Portal” focusing National Education Policy-2020.
The programme intended to orient and update the faculty members about the National Education Policy-2020 and train prospective students who intend to seek admission in S.P College about the different functionalities of the admission portal.
The proceedings of the programme started with the welcome address by the Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Ghulam Jeelani Qureshi who gave a detailed perspective on the theme of the programme. He further, appreciated the organizers and congratulated the Convenor for conducting the event on the theme which is very pertinent in present times.
Advisor, College Admission committee, Dr. Shazia Mushtaq presented introductory remarks about the programme and highlighted the significance of National Education Policy.
The dignitaries who spoke during the Orientation programme included Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Ashraf Shah, Consultant NEP University of Kashmir and Invited Speaker Prof. Zubair Syed Masoodi Assistant Professor, Department of Higher Education J&K and Member NEP Cell, University of Kashmir.
Prof. Masoodi’s expertise and in-depth knowledge of the National Education Policy-2020 and working of Higher Education Admission portal added immense value to the event, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the policy’s intricacies and implications.
Both the guests on the occasion gave a wonderful presentation of the scheme of the things covering both the focus areas of the programme and deliberated on various crucial aspects of the policy, including curriculum framework, pedagogy, assessment methods, teacher training, and digital education justifying the potential of the policy to reshape the future of education system in India and J&K.
Convenor of the College Admission committee, Dr. Gowhar Hamid Dar presented the glimpses of the courses which are being offered by the College since the implementation of NEP 2020 in the J&K and more particularly of the courses which will be implemented from the current academic session.
The Interaction cum Orientation lecture served as a platform for students, faculty members, administrators, and education stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions and gain profound insights into the theme of the programme.
