Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has destroyed wild cannabis spread over vast area of land in Baramulla and Bandipora.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said, that in Baramulla, a police party led by Incharge PP Palhallan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Mohd Nawaz alongwith Executive Magistrate destroyed wild Cannabis spread over vast area of land at Tapper and Renji Pattan area of District Baramulla. Besides, in Bandipora also, a police party led by SHO Police Station Aragam launched a bhung destruction drive in Nadihal Aragam and its adjacent areas and destroyed wild bhung spread over vast area of land.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that people of the areas who also joined the destruction drive of wild cannabis hailed the efforts taken by it. Police on this occasion appealed people to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law.
