Meri Mati Mera Desh: Gallantry Awardees, Veer Naris, Ex-Servicemen felicitated in Rajouri

Rajouri: Meri Mati Mera Desh – Mati ko Naman Veeron ka Vandan program was on Tuesday launched in District Rajouri.
During the program held in the conference hall Dak Bungalow, Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri felicitated the gallantry awardees, Veer Naris and ex-servicemen/retired paramilitary personnel. Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal was the Chief Guest, while SSP Amritpal Singh was the Guest of Honour.
The program was graced by Anil Tigga Commandant Adm SHQ Rajouri, Nisith Upadhyay Commandant 79th Bn BSF Rajouri, Lt Col Madhur Verma 2 IC 225 Fd Regiment Artillery, Anil Kr Lal 2 IC BSF Rajouri, Kapil Dev Dy Commandant CRPF Rajouri among others.
The Chief Guest, while speaking on the occasion, said that Meri Mati Mera Desh – Mati ko Naman Veeron ka Vandan is a nationwide campaign aimed to promote patriotism, celebrate the spirit of India and promote conservation of natural resources and forests by planting 75 saplings in each panchayat, create Amrit Vatikas with installation of Shilaphalakam with the names of Veers inscribed on it and honour Gallantry Awardees, Veer Naris, Ex Servicemen.
Nitin Hangloo, District Youth Officer NYKS Rajouri, said that Meri Mati Mera Desh is being organised all over the nation as part of the closing ceremony of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He said Amrit Vatikas shall be created in each and every panchayat of the nation from 9th to 15th of August.
“From 6th August onwards, Mitti Kalash shall be collected from Panchayats and sent to Block Level after which these will be moved to National Capital where a Mega Program shall be organised from 28-30 August with participation of 7500 youth from across the nation who shall be addressed by the Prime Minister at Kartavyapath,” he added. He requested BSF and CRPF to coordinate in organizing different programs involving youth so that they stay away from negative and disruptive forces.
Later, the District Level Program witnessed felicitation of Gallantry Awardees, Veer Naris, Ex Servicemen, Retired Paramilitary Personnel from Army, BSF and CRPF. A ceremonial plantation drive was also held in the Dak bungalow Complex. A Plant Sapling was also given to each participant.
Anil Tigga, while speaking on the event, said that the BSF is committed to coordinate and effectively ensure the success of Meri Maati Mera De He further said that the BSF is collaborating with the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan to ensure that plantation drives are held in each and every Panchayat of the nation of the district. He assured to continue coordination with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan for the overall well-being and involvement of youth of the District in nation building.
Nisith Upadhay also expressed gratitude to NYKS and District Administration for felicitating the Gallantry Awardees, Veer Naris, Ex Servicemen and Retd Paramilitary Personnel of the district. The plantation drive was conducted to mark the inauguration of the Meri Mati Mera Desh – Mati ko Naman Veeron Ka Vandan program.
